ThingsBoard CE v4.2.x upgrade instructions for Docker

Upgrading ThingsBoard CE to 4.2.1.1

NOTE:
These upgrade steps are applicable for ThingsBoard version 4.2.1. In order to upgrade to 4.2.1.1 you need to upgrade to 4.2.1 first.

ThingsBoard CE service upgrade

  1. Change the version of the thingsboard/tb-node in the docker-compose.yml file to the 4.2.1.1.

  2. Execute the following commands:

  docker pull thingsboard/tb-node:4.2.1.1
  docker compose stop thingsboard-ce 
  docker compose up -d

  1. Change the version of the thingsboard/tb-node in the docker-compose.yml file to the 4.2.1.

  2. Execute the following commands:

  docker compose run --rm -e UPGRADE_TB=true thingsboard-ce 
  docker compose up -d

Upgrading ThingsBoard CE to 4.2.0

NOTE:
These upgrade steps are applicable for ThingsBoard version 4.1.x. In order to upgrade to 4.2 you need to upgrade to 4.1.x first.

ThingsBoard CE service upgrade

  1. Change the version of the thingsboard/tb-node in the docker-compose.yml file to the 4.2.0.

  2. Execute the following commands:

  docker compose stop thingsboard-ce
  docker compose run --rm -e UPGRADE_TB=true thingsboard-ce 
  docker compose up -d
