ThingsBoard PE v3.1.x upgrade instructions for Docker

Upgrading ThingsBoard PE to 3.1.1

NOTE: These upgrade steps are applicable for ThingsBoard version 3.1PE. In order to upgrade to 3.1.1PE you need to upgrade to 3.1PE first.

ThingsBoard PE image download

Download ThingsBoard PE Docker image:

docker pull thingsboard/tb-pe:3.1.1PE

ThingsBoard PE service upgrade

  • Stop ThingsBoard mytbpe container if it is running.

docker compose stop mytbpe

If you still rely on Docker Compose as docker-compose (with a hyphen) execute next command:
docker-compose stop mytbpe

  • Update docker-compose.yml

  • Change upgradeversion variable:

echo '3.1.0' | sudo tee ~/.mytbpe-data/.upgradeversion
  • Execute the following commands to upgrade ThingsBoard to the new version:

docker compose run mytbpe upgrade-tb.sh

docker-compose run mytbpe upgrade-tb.sh

  • Start ThingsBoard:

docker compose up -d

Upgrading ThingsBoard PE to 3.1

NOTE: These upgrade steps are applicable for ThingsBoard version 3.0.1PE. In order to upgrade to 3.1PE you need to upgrade to 3.0.1PE first.
